Frequently Asked Questions

How technical do I need to be to use CloudPanel?

While CloudPanel significantly simplifies server management, you should be comfortable using a command line occasionally and understanding basic web hosting concepts.

That said, this course is specifically designed to walk you through everything step-by-step, with detailed explanations that make the process accessible, even if you’re not highly technical.

How much can I really save compared to managed WordPress hosting?

You can likely save between 50-75% every month compared to popular managed WordPress hosting companies.

For example, hosting 10 sites on Kinsta costs $225/month or $100/m on Rocket.net, but with your own CloudPanel install, you could pay as little as $25/month for the same number of sites with equal or better performance, more storage, and more bandwidth.

In my case, I saved $1,680/yr by dropping GridPane and Cloudways. Absolutely massive savings!

Is CloudPanel limited to just WordPress sites?

Not at all! You can host any type of website on your CloudPanel instance.

This was a large reason why I decided to go all-in on CloudPanel as my hosting stack of choice. Although I have mostly WordPress websites, I also have a few static HTML websites and a Laravel app and my old host did not allow anything except WordPress.

CloudPanel supports WordPress, PHP Applications like Laravel, Drupal, etc as well as Node.js, Python, or Static HTML/CSS/JS sites.

What about staging environments and site cloning?

One trade off is that CloudPanel doesn’t have a built-in one-click staging/clone feature, but in the course I’ll show you several ways to handle staging and development workflows that are just as effective.

Most solutions involve using backup tools that you likely already use and are familiar with, or incorporating conditions to proof content without requiring a staging site at all.

Can I manage multiple CloudPanel instances via one dashboard?

CloudPanel is designed to be installed once per server, so there’s no centralized dashboard for managing multiple instances.

One major benefit of this approach is that each server operates independently, so a problem on one doesn’t affect the others. While it does mean managing a few extra logins, after 6 months running 4 different CloudPanel servers, I’ve found it to be a non-issue in practice.

What if I need help or run into issues?

While there’s no 24/7 support team like with managed hosting, CloudPanel has an active Discord community where you can get help with most issues. In my months of running CloudPanel, I’ve rarely needed outside support.

Additionally, you have the option to purchase access to a private channel in my community where you can ask for help and advice for 90 days.

Do I need to use Cloudflare?

Yes, Cloudflare as your DNS provider is required for this course, as it’s part of what gains us many of the security and performance features shown in course.

We’ll be using the Cloudflare free plan for the purposes of this course.

If you already own a domain, you must be able to point its nameservers to Cloudflare. I’ll show you how to do this in the course.

What does lifetime access mean? Will this course be kept up to date? Do I get future courses?

Lifetime access means that if I decide to remove the course content from the community platform, I’ll email you a link to download and save the videos to your own system.

For up to 6 months after release, I will provide course updates at my discretion. As CloudPanel evolves and as I refine my own server setup, I’ll update the course with new lessons and techniques. These updates will be included with your one-time purchase.

Before diving into CloudPanel Mastery, please ensure you have access to the following requirements. Most are free, but all are essential for following along with the course.

Cloudflare DNS management is required for this course. The security features, SSL certificates, and performance optimizations shown throughout the course rely on Cloudflare integration. If you cannot use Cloudflare for your domains, this course may not be suitable for you.

You must control or have DNS access for the domain(s) you want to host. This is essential for multiple parts of the course.

Cloudflare Account

Required for DNS management, SSL certificates, and security features. We’ll use Cloudflare throughout the entire course.
