How technical do I need to be to use CloudPanel?
While CloudPanel significantly simplifies server management, you should be comfortable using a command line occasionally and understanding basic web hosting concepts. That said, this course is specifically designed to walk you through everything step-by-step, with detailed explanations that make the process accessible even if you’re not highly technical.
How much can I really save compared to managed WordPress hosting?
Most users save between 50-75% compared to popular managed WordPress hosting. For example, hosting 10 sites might cost $290+/month with a managed host, but with CloudPanel on your own VPS, you could pay as little as $40-80/month for the same number of sites with equal or better performance.
In my case, I saved $2,400/yr by dropping GridPane and getting all my old servers off of Cloudways (That was $600/yr from Cloudways and $200/m on Cloudways).
What about staging environments and site cloning?
One trade off is that CloudPanel doesn’t have a built-in one-click staging feature, but in the course I’ll show you several ways to handle staging and development workflows that are just as effective.
Most solutions involve using backup tools that you likely already use and are familiar with.
What if I need help or run into issues?
While there’s no 24/7 support team like with managed hosting, CloudPanel has an active Discord community where you can get help with most issues. In my months of running CloudPanel, I’ve rarely needed outside support.
